Production Technician, Ear Falls,
When you join our team as a Production Technician, you will support the mill to run smoothly by ensuring everything has a place and that the yard and sawmill are clean. Working in a sawmill, you’ll discover that they do more than transform forest products, they also transform our communities.
What You’ll Do
- Align
logs, cants, and boards manually, using crowbar, picaroon or other
tools and equipment. - Ensure
smooth flow of process throughout sawmill from debarker entry decks
to sawmill outfeed. - Use
control panels, pedals and other controls to keep uptime and efficiency in
a safe manner. - Assist
other wood processing workers to operate, maintain and repair various
machines and equipment. - Manually pile and unjam lumber throughout the process.
- Clean
wood processing machines, equipment and work areas using shovels,
hoses and other tools during work stoppages or inaccessible places
during operations. - Perform
clean-ups of the sawmill during downtime. - Follow
all safety protocols including but not limited to lockout, SOP, PWHA, etc. - Preform
additional maintenance and other related duties as necessary. - Communicate
and collaborate with other production personnel, maintenance personnel and
other employees involved in the process.
What You Offer
- Ability to work well on a team.
- Ability to work independently and be full of initiative.
- Show vigilance and a concern for health and safety.
- DCS, DEC, or equivalent.
- Prior experience at a sawmill is an asset.
- Availability to work day and/or night shifts.
