We are currently seeking a Sales Manager, SYP to join our team in Peachtree City, GA. This role is responsible for managing sales in the US South region for Southern Yellow Pine, focusing on key customer accounts. Responsibilities include negotiating contracts, overseeing credit, and developing pricing strategies to maximize revenue and mill margins while driving consistent, profitable sales growth through effective planning and strategy execution.

What You’ll Do

  • Achieve sales targets by forward selling production and minimizing inventory through collaboration with mill staff and customers.
  • Create and implement strategies to improve short- and long-term sales, maximize mill margins, and support overall earnings growth.
  • Act as a liaison between sawmills and the sales office to guide product mix decisions based on market trends and customer needs.
  • Meet customer distribution targets, build new accounts, and develop tailored programs or products to meet client requirements.
  • Support senior management in leading the sales team and oversee training and mentorship programs for representatives and trainees.
  • Ensure corporate credit standards are upheld and regularly analyze market trends to inform sales strategies and opportunities.

What You Offer

  • Post-secondary education required (preferably in marketing or business), with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 5-10 years of lumber sales experience, with detailed knowledge of the North American lumber market.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strategic, analytical, and innovative approach.
  • Highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to lead and inspire teams to achieve goals.
  • Skilled in analyzing market trends and sales performance to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
  • Ability to travel in US and Canada for customer visits or trade shows
  • Ability to work in-office 5 days per week.
