POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Nursing Assistant / Attendant / Orderly is responsible for administering direct resident care and performing other duties deemed necessary to insure optimal care. The Nursing Assistant / Attendant / Orderly works under the direction of a professional licensed nurse.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of Accredited High School or GED Program.

License: Completion of a nursing attendant training program or equivalent. Must be trained in CPR.

Experience: Experience, preferred but not required

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the work day, lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these sources to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
• Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities assigned.
• External and internal applicants who became disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case-by-case basis.
• Position has a high expected exposure to blood borne pathogens.
