Nordson Adhesive Dispensing Systems (ADS) sets the global standard in hot melt machines and dispensing, coating, and laminating systems. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage specific global suppliers for improved performance and reduced cost
  • Negotiate and manage contracts for direct purchases, indirect services, capital, and MRO purchases to support corporate and manufacturing needs
  • Manage projects from initial planning through completion
  • Responsible for specific regional and global projects and programs as assigned
  • Manage the transition from old supplier to new supplier
  • Continually review supplier markets, develop alternative supply options
  • Support any ad hoc projects, as required by the business
  • Combining the efforts of supplier development and performance, lead the reduction and consolidation of the supply base to key suppliers that provide quality material, on time for the most effective cost
  • Support focus and strategic direction for projects and programs as assigned, such as LCCS, Supplier Risk Management, ROP Scheduling Agreement expansion, new acquisition integration, SCM organization training, market price forecasting and others as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business, operations, logistics or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of five years of purchasing, supply chain, manufacturing or production experience is required

PREFERRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work with vendors in negotiating contracts
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating, planning, and analysis
  • Ability to understand and communicate basic engineered drawings and specifications
  • Proficient with MS Office applications: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at any level
  • Able to effectively and promptly problem solve
  • Able to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Capable of seeing the big picture while managing the details
  • Experience in SAP a plus
