Position Summary

The Box Maker is responsible for handcrafting and assembling boxes and packaging products using manual tools and techniques.

Position Responsibilities

• Handcraft and assemble boxes from raw materials, ensuring adherence to quality and design specifications.
• Measure, cut, and fold materials accurately using manual tools (e.g., box cutters, rulers, and tape).
• Inspect finished boxes for quality, ensuring they meet company standards for strength and appearance.
• Maintain an organized and safe workspace, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
• Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and efficiently manage workflow.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking material usage and alerting supervisors to low stock levels.
• Follow safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
• Participate in training sessions to improve skills and stay updated on packaging techniques.
• Crider Foods requires all employees to comply with and support all Food Safety and Quality policies, programs and procedures to ensure our products meet and exceed consumers’ expectation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous experience in a manual assembly or packaging role is beneficial but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
• Basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Must be able to follow directions and perform manual labor.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Able to walk and stand, use arms and legs for long periods of time including wrist turning and finger manipulation.
• Employee stands frequently with tasks requiring consistent bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling to complete; Lift, carry and push/pull occasionally of up to 50 pounds is required.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme temperature conditions.
• Job locations can be consistently 40 degrees or below.
• The noise levels at work are moderate to loud and hearing protection is required.
