Position Summary
The Box Maker is responsible for handcrafting and assembling boxes and packaging products using manual tools and techniques.
Position Responsibilities
- Handcraft and assemble boxes from raw materials, ensuring adherence to quality and design specifications.
- Measure, cut, and fold materials accurately using manual tools (e.g., box cutters, rulers, and tape).
- Inspect finished boxes for quality, ensuring they meet company standards for strength and appearance.
- Maintain an organized and safe workspace, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines and efficiently manage workflow.
- Assist in inventory management by tracking material usage and alerting supervisors to low stock levels.
- Follow safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Participate in training sessions to improve skills and stay updated on packaging techniques.

Essential Skills and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a manual assembly or packaging role is beneficial but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Basic math skills for measuring and cutting materials accurately.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with coworkers and supervisors.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
- Must be able to follow directions and perform manual labor.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Able to walk and stand, use arms and legs for long periods of time including wrist turning and finger manipulation.
- Employee stands frequently with tasks requiring consistent bending, stooping, kneeling, or crawling to complete; Lift, carry and push/pull occasionally of up to 50 pounds is required.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme temperature conditions.
- Job locations can be consistently 40 degrees or below.
- The noise levels at work are moderate to loud and hearing protection is required.
