Position Summary
The Data Analytics Developer owns the data transformation and integration layer of Crider Foods’ data platform. The position builds and maintains the SQL and dbt models that convert raw source data into governed, business-ready datasets; creates and maintains data integrations on Qlik Talend Cloud; and provides general software support across the Digital Transformation team’s applications and tools.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain data transformation models in dbt, following established modeling and naming conventions.
- Write, optimize, and maintain SQL across Snowflake and SQL Server sources.
- Migrate business logic from legacy Qlik scripts and ERP source fields into governed, version-controlled dbt transformations.
- Create, service, and maintain data integrations using Qlik Talend Cloud — building and monitoring pipelines that move data between source systems, Snowflake, and downstream consumers.
- Own data quality for the transformation layer: author tests, validate output against source systems, and resolve discrepancies before they reach reporting.
- Document data models, transformation logic, and data lineage so that numbers can be traced to source and understood across the organization.
- Support the Qlik reporting layer by building and refining the data models behind Qlik applications.
- Provide general software support for Digital Transformation applications and tools, assisting internal users with issues and enhancements.
- Support the ERP implementation by mapping, validating, and reconciling data, and by building transformation logic against the new system.
- Work within the team’s engineering practices: Git-based version control, pull-request review, Flyway schema migrations, and GitHub Actions CI/CD.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong SQL — able to write, read, and optimize complex queries and reason about query performance.
- Experience with dbt or demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on transformation-as-code practices.
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake preferred; Redshift, BigQuery, or Synapse acceptable).
- Familiarity with data integration / ETL tooling and the ability to build and maintain integration pipelines.
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows: branching, pull requests, and code review.
- A validation-first mindset — the instinct to verify and document data rather than assume it is correct.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical peers and non-technical operations staff.
Preferred Relevant Skills and Experience
- Two or more years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a comparable data-focused role.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience migrating BI / reporting logic (Qlik, Power BI, Tableau) into a governed transformation layer.
- Qlik Sense and/or Qlik Talend Cloud experience.
- Exposure to ERP systems (Macola, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, SAP) or participation in an active ERP implementation.
- Python for data tasks and automation.
- Manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial domain background.
